About Harriet
I am an early retired teacher who has taught education at various levels, including college. My teaching experience spans 28 years, including tutoring and substituting in the system for children that really need extra help. I hold a bachelor's degree in early and elementary education and a master's degree in special education learning disabilities. I was the English language arts and math coordinator for 6 years within my school. Featured on our local news station as an innovative teacher who taught with passion and excitement that allowed my students to score very high on the end-of-the-year statewide test.

With a special education background, I teach math or arithmetic in a very simple way, showing various strategies in order to accomplish the tasks. Allowing the student to find the method that matches their learning style, I employ hands-on materials/or visuals needed, and extra explanation and examples. I use various methods that would help the student to understand the process.
