About Mariama
I am a committed teaching assistant with a passion for helping students achieve their best in Maths and Sciences. My approach is professional, supportive, and designed to inspire confidence, ensuring that learners feel guided and encouraged throughout their studies. I bring both classroom experience and a structured teaching style that reassures students of my ability to help them succeed. Outside of teaching, I actively contribute to community service in public health, reflecting my dedication to applying knowledge for the benefit of society. I bring a strong academic background and practical teaching experience to my tutoring. With a Biology Honours degree and an MSc in International Public Health, I have supported KS3 and KS4 students as both a teaching assistant and tutor, focusing on Mathematics and Sciences (Biology). My lessons are designed for secondary school students and emphasise building confidence, linking theory to real-world applications, and encouraging independent thinking. I also extend my expertise to Research and Public Health, offering students a broader perspective on how science connects to society. My teaching style is structured around Bloom’s Taxonomy, ensuring students progress from recalling knowledge to applying, analysing, and creating solutions. Each one-hour lesson is carefully planned: warm-up activities, guided teaching, intensive practice and reflection to consolidate learning. By combining repetition, critical analysis, and real-world relevance, I help students not only succeed academically but also develop the confidence and curiosity needed for lifelong learning.
