About Wim Laurens
I have experience with homework guidance and tutoring in exact subjects, Dutch and English. I have also tutored students for the past 9 years, so I have extensive experience with the different challenges that come with teaching. I have taught chess for several years as a volunteer at a chess club and at a primary school (group lessons) and privately.

I am a spontaneous and open person. I like to work in a structured way, but I am also quite flexible. The purpose of my lessons is not only to transfer knowledge, but also to build self-confidence and to create a structured approach in learning. We work together on your goals. The lessons can be filled in freely based on what it takes to achieve these goals. It may be that we make agreements together about a plan to get a good mark, or that I help you with a specific subject. We can work together on structure and planning; I have noticed that this can help to relieve some of the stress students have to deal with. We can also do subject-specific classes together, such as math or chemistry. In the current situation I work from home with a digital whiteboard and video calling via Google Meet. We can discuss other tools for planning and practice depending on the type of lesson we want to do.
