About Amnna

As both an Honors student at McGill University and a practicing visual artist, I bring a balance of academic knowledge, creativity, and professionalism to every lesson. My interdisciplinary background in Urban Studies, Geography, Islamic and Middle East Studies, and digital design allows me to support students in both analytical and creative learning environments.

Beyond academics, I also have experience curating exhibitions and leading collaborative creative projects, which has strengthened my communication, organization, and mentorship skills. I understand that every student learns differently, so I work to create a supportive, patient, and engaging atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence in their abilities.

I am especially passionate about helping students strengthen their writing, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills while making learning feel approachable and rewarding. Whether students are looking for academic support, help developing creative projects, or guidance with digital design tools like Canva, Illustrator, and Figma, I adapt lessons to fit each student’s goals, interests, and pace.

Hi! My name is Amna, and I am an Honours student at McGill University studying Geography and Urban Studies with a double major in Islamic and Middle East Studies. Alongside my academic work, I am also a visual artist and exhibition curator with experience in digital design platforms including Canva, Illustrator, and Figma.

My teaching approach is creative, collaborative, and personalized to each student’s needs. I believe students learn best when lessons are interactive and connected to their own interests, rather than based only on memorization. I focus on building confidence, critical thinking, and practical skills that students can apply both inside and outside the classroom.

A typical lesson usually begins with identifying the student’s goals, challenges, and learning style. From there, I create structured but flexible sessions that may include reviewing concepts, practicing exercises together, analyzing examples, brainstorming ideas, or working on creative projects. For students interested in design, lessons can involve hands-on work with digital tools and visual storytelling techniques. For humanities students, I help with essay writing, research skills, reading comprehension, and developing strong arguments.

What sets me apart is my interdisciplinary background combining academic research, creative practice, and curation experience. Through my work organizing exhibitions and creative projects, I have developed strong communication and mentorship skills, as well as an ability to make complex ideas engaging and accessible. I enjoy helping students connect creativity with academic learning in ways that feel meaningful and motivating.

My lessons are open to middle school, high school, and beginner university students looking for support in geography, humanities, essay writing, research methods, digital design, and creative project development. I especially enjoy working with students who want a supportive and encouraging learning environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas.
