About Sophia
I am a BA Hons. Criminology and History graduate from England, and studied postgraduate social science and research modules for four years. During this time I worked as an Associate Lecturer in Criminology at the University of the West of England, presenting lectures, running seminar groups, workshops, etc. I was responsible for 500 students per year, and would teach anywhere between 1-200 students at one time.

My teaching methodology is somewhat creative: I am a cultural criminologist, so I believe in gathering information from the world around you as well as in books. I believe in targeting a students learning type - audio, visual, kinaesthetic - and getting them excited about subjects in ways unique to them, so sometimes learning can be quite hands on and practical as well as purely reading texts. I believe very much in learning and teaching being a shared, two-way experience, and I believe that finding passion in a subject true to the student is the key to learning, adapting to needs and interests in a fun way.

First, a disclaimer: we share the same surname and are distant cousins. However I believe Sophia would make an extremely good tutor because she is well educated and very bright.
