About Fiona
I’m a UK-based native English speaker, ex-IELTS examiner, and MA-qualified teacher with over 30 years of experience helping students reach their IELTS goals.
I specialise in helping adults who are stuck at Band 5 or 6 to break through to higher scores with clear feedback, expert strategies, and a full support system between lessons.
I will:
- Analyse your strengths and weaknesses
- Prepare a detailed learning plan
- Set relevant and appropriate homework tasks
After each session, you will receive:
- A full recording of the lesson to download
- A Google Doc to track your progress and ask questions
- Targeted worksheets and activities to fix weak areas

Every lesson is carefully designed to target your specific needs, based on your IELTS Band Score goals and feedback from your free trial.
For Writing lessons, I will send you a Task 1 or Task 2 question before our meeting, so I can mark your work and prepare a detailed feedback plan for the lesson.
In the 1:1 lesson, we will:
- Focus on any weak areas (Grammar, Essay Organisation, Pronunciation, Vocabulary)
- Use IELTS-specific practice activities to fix mistakes and build skills
- Review all band criteria to strengthen your overall performance
I believe that the four IELTS skills are all connected, and my multi-skill approach helps you improve faster across all parts of the test.
You will leave each session with clear action steps, personalised homework, and materials designed to help you build confidence and see real progress.
