About Alireza

I was always against going to school to learn different subjects because I always thought it was a waste of time and I could learn it myself, and I tried my best and I saw that my thesis was correct. Indeed I needed some help with things I couldn't understand. So the reason I am here is to help you with the things that you don't understand and need help with. One of the biggest and strongest reasons why I can easily help you is that I have been in your shoes and I have been alone so I can understand your confusions and questions much easier and since I have been studying alone for both IGCSE and A-Levels, I can provide solutions and pathways that you aren't familiar with. So if you are in need of help because you are lost, I am here to give you guidance and share my experiences with you.

I use a lot of videos and material online and my father was an English teacher for 28 years so he also has teaching materials that have helped me a lot. The first thing that we need to see is your strengths and weaknesses. To know your weaknesses isn't an easy step and it takes time and energy. We then work on your weaknesses, depending on the student, using different methods. Whether it's visual aid or even audio aid. The rest of the energy spent is from the student themselves. Practice is needed and I will help you with the "how much practice?".

  • When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

I started home-schooling myself since the end of 8th grade ( Form 2) and I had a lot of known and unknown issues with my studies since I was getting ready for the IGCSE examinations all on my own. I had no one to guide me and I was reluctant to ask for help for multiple different reasons; one was related to financial issues and another was that I didn't know where or how I should start with a private tutor, alongside a lot of other reasons. After I finished my IGCSEs, I started my A-levels and it was a different world, it helped me with understanding a lot of things I didn't understand before and I also took the initiative to finally ask for tutoring. During that time I felt like I didn't want my life to just be studying. I had the time, the energy and I wanted to start making a life for myself and so with the help of my father who is a teacher himself for 25+ years, I started to work as a tutor since I had went through a lot of issues before myself. So I wanted to be a difference for people who faced the same issues as I had and that's why I decided to go for tutoring.
  • Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I used to hate mathematics as I didn't understand it properly and honestly I was really lazy to try harder for it but one thing I really liked and was good at was solving problems. As I grew up , maths became more understandable for me, it both helped me in my studies and in how I see life and how I solve problems that relates to my personal life. One of my favourite part in mathematics was Simultaneous Equations. It was really easy to understand and it made complete sense to me and it really did help me with seeing things differently , so did Trigonometry (although it was really difficult after a certain point). On the other hand I always disliked and didn't understand statistics. It was always a very stray topic for me. But thankfully I had a great tutor help me understand it more. Physics was also one of those subjects that had to do with solving a certain problem or issue, or create something and solve the issues that come with it, which is why I really enjoy the mechanics part of Physics and completely dislike the Quantum part of it. The reason why I also went into English was that I always liked to sound profound and had a difficult time expressing myself with my words which is why I took the initiative to get stronger in English and help others who had problems with English studies.
  • Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

My father was always a role model to me, both in life and in his profession. He was the best in what he did as far as my experiences went. In all honesty my biggest inspiration was the fact that the teachers that I had in High-school were really underqualified and no assistance to my goal. That gave me the biggest inspiration as I knew I had the ability to be better and actually help others that faced the same teaching environment as I had.
  • What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

Patience, wisdom, and fluidity with the way they teach as not all students learn and understand the same way. I think all these 3 factors come hand-in-hand and makes the most abled and talented tutor.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

During the time I had in school , both primary and secondary, I was taught by a lot of different teachers and only a very few of them stood out to me as they had a very balanced and efficient way of teaching and the rest of them either had no patience or no skill in the fluidity of the way they were teaching a subject. Which allowed me to understand, over-time, what would make a great tutor/teacher. If I didn't have those unfortunate experiences, I wouldn't have had these skills or abilities to do what I do, so in a sense, I am gratefully for what has happened through out my life in learning and teaching.
  • What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

I always had this problem where it was hard for me to picture certain things, and this problem was shown to me when I started learning about Electricity. It was always so difficulty for me to paint a picture for myself about what's happening and going on when I was learning about electricity in Physics. I guess throughout time, as I grew up it became a little easier for me but that was one of my weaknesses.
  • Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

I don't have a specific passion if I'm being honest. I guess the only thing I can count as a passion is to be able to help anyone in however I am abled to and the way I am abled to currently is by tutoring.
  • What makes you a Superprof (besides answering this interview questions :-P) ?

Besides the fact that I was given a chance to join this Website and group, it has helped me in multiple different ways and I hope I can do the same for people who are looking for a tutor and for now, I've had positive comments to what I do , so I guess the peoples opinions and reviews makes me a SuperProf , and I appreciate that greatly.
