About Verity
Having previously graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in Communication Design and now currently undertaking a Masters, I am deeply passionate about illustration and design. I have an active art practice and work as a freelance illustrator and designer when not studying myself.
I love creating funny comics and characters that exist in fantastical worlds and I use a variety of image making methods such as drawing, print-making and collage to create my images. My work is often simultaneously abstract and cartoon-like which is due to an accumulated interest in a range of visuals from fine art to graphic design. This range of artistic visuals has lead to my growing interest in research which is steadily becoming more a part of my practice.

I'm a professional illustrator with a keen interest in helping people improve their artistic skills through tailored lessons. I have both amble experience within the illustration industry and within education, having taught in a variety of roles as both a print technician and with primary school children. I now want to turn my attention to high school or hobbyists who are looking to apply to art college or improve their practice.
I use a student led approach with an emphasis on exploring art and design methods that reflect the pupil artistic wants. Each lesson is therefore tailored to the specific needs of each pupil, depending on the level that they are at - from beginners to A Level/ Advanced Higher levels.
My main area of expertise is within the realms of illustration including both analogue and digital skills such as: drawing, painting, collage, idea creation, and creative research. I also have Adobe Photoshop and InDesign knowledge for any that want to improve in these areas.
