About John
I am a Chartered Accountant and former Tax Director for a major international group. I decided to make a positive contribution to the future by retraining as a teacher and was chosen as one of the first maths scholars by the IMA in 2014 and after obtaining my PGCE taught in a local school that was rated outstanding by Ofsted. I started to tutor two years ago to focus on GCSE and A level examination years (10 through 13).
For the past two years I have been tutoring from home and have had significant success helping GCSE pupils add an average of two grades to their projected results based on their mocks. My specialism is teaching A level pupils and they have also been particularly successful. In summer 2018, one of my pupils received an A* in both her A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics and is just about to start studying Architecture at Cambridge University.
The key to achieving success in most areas of life is to commit yourself to improving, accept any weaknesses as a welcome challenge, and most of all to enjoy yourself! Mathematics is no different. All of my students are mathematicians and rightly proud of their abilities. Some are more able than others and get higher grades but that does not diminish the credit and achievements of the others. If you accept your abilities just as they are and simply want to be the best mathematician that you can be then please get in touch.
