About Connie
I am focused on taking a student-centred approach to learning! I believe that every student has the capability to excel at STEM subjects and aim to encourage young people to widen their understanding of Chemistry outside of the school curriculum. Lessons with me are so much more than covering the course content required for exams! As an experienced tutor, I contextualise the knowledge the students learn in real-world settings and engage young people in scientific discussion. I also have student welfare at the front of all I do. Exams can be stressful and many students struggle in the fast-paced learning environment of modern schools. I believe in supporting the emotional and mental well-being of our students as well as coaching them through their academic experience. As a student counsellor, I am also qualified in Active Listening and the Counselling Approach. I teach with a sympathetic and compassionate approach designed to increase young students' confidence and mindfulness.

Each lesson is around an hour long and tailored to each student's individual learning needs. I use PowerPoints, past paper questions and optional assignments to be completed in the student's own time to cover each Chemistry topic individually and then in the context of more advanced questions. Each PowerPoint can be sent over to the student once the lesson is over to allow them to build up their revision materials. I am an experienced tutor having been working with students for the past 5 years and have helped many students achieve their personalised learning goals. I teach with a student-centred approach and will take into consideration your child's goals and aims when teaching to ensure they get the best out of their lessons. I have a clean DBS which can be provided upon request.

Connie's a really amazing tutor, I've been really struggling in chemistry for a while but not only has she helped me grow confidence in the subject but she got me further past my goal grades too. Eve got double 5 5 in science and a 5 in maths so she was incredibly happy! Passed all her other exams too! Connie was so encouraging and explained everything with lots of patience!
