About Raphael
Hi, I'm Raphael, an Electronic and Information Engineering student at Imperial College London, on track for a First. Before university I achieved A* in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and French, plus an A in Chemistry.
I've been tutoring for over four years, working with students from GCSE through to A-Level and admissions test prep. I tutor because I genuinely enjoy the moment when a difficult concept finally clicks, usually after we've broken it down and rebuilt it from first principles.
Outside of tutoring, I work on systems programming, compiler design and hardware projects, which keeps my problem-solving sharp and gives me plenty of real-world examples to draw on in lessons.

My lessons are tailored to each student. I start by diagnosing weak spots through past papers or problem-solving, then build up from first principles rather than rote memorisation. I'm an Electronic and Information Engineering student at Imperial College London (known as Computer Engineering elsewhere), on track for a First. At A-Level I achieved A* in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and French, plus an A in Chemistry, so I know the syllabi thoroughly and remember exactly where students get stuck.
Sessions are typically 60-90 minutes (90-120 for exam crunch periods). I welcome GCSE, A-Level and first-year university students, as well as anyone preparing for STEP, MAT or Oxbridge admissions tests. Lessons can be online or in-person around West London. I provide notes, worked solutions and follow-up problems after each session.
