About Ruth
As an individual with a high academic capacity, I have always enjoyed learning. I graduated high school a year early and then proceeded to work through my undergraduate at record speeds - graduating in December with my "4-year" degree that I was able to complete in just two and a half years. Throughout my academic career, I have also held multiple full-time and part-time jobs (at the same time), including two years of experience tutoring numerous students through my university and connected programs. I love helping students succeed in their goals no matter how much or little they need from me.

Tutoring sessions will take place virtually and can be booked in 30 or 60-minute time blocks. While I specialize in general mathematics for 3rd - 6th graders, I am also capable to tutor mathematics as early as the kindergarten level (with required parent supervision through 2nd grade) and may be able to assist with higher-level math as well - depending on the subject area. Students are expected to come to the meeting with material to cover, normally in the form of homework. If there is no material to cover, students should at least come to tutoring with a narrowed-down subject to address. If the student is struggling, but can not pinpoint what they do not understand, the first tutoring session can be used to determine areas that need strengthening. My tutoring strategy is unique because I also have experience in tutoring students in the areas of academic habits, so I am able to help students figure out areas of improvement even when met with "I don't know,everything is just hard"!
