Greetings! My name is Ria and I am a recent high school graduate, currently looking forward to my college endeavors. As someone who has studied 6 years of high school math and has tutored Algebra for 6 months now, it is no surprise Algebra is integrated in almost every STEM-oriented course. My passion for tutoring Algebra comes from the knowledge that once a student is able to understand Algebra, the opportunities for a STEM pathway open up tremendously. Algebra also helps students outside of the classroom; developing the ability to recognize patterns and create a mental imagery of Algebraic concepts is vital in building my students critical thinking, pattern, and problem-solving skills. These skills help to build a student both in and outside the classroom, hence why I have a strong passion for teaching math. During your students tutoring time, I will provide the following services; provide lessons, develop note-taking skills, frequent grade and mental health check ins, setting goals with each student, and giving encouragement for the student both in and outside the classroom. I look forward to being your future algebra teacher, and remember: everything is figure-out-able!
