About Saswat
Hey there! I am Saswat Das, currently a Computer Science PhD student at the University of Virginia (starting Fall 2023) and a graduate of the Int. M.Sc. programme at NISER, Bhubaneswar, where I majored in mathematics and pursued a minor degree in theoretical computer science. My research interests broadly lie in the fields of privacy and algorithmic fairness in AI and data analysis, and cryptography.
As far as tutoring goes, I have some experience dating back to my high school days, and have been a student tutor/mentor in the Avanti mentorship scheme for +2 students, and I have tutored students in Mathematics as a volunteer for Aveti Learning. During the pandemic, I was a Section Leader and instructor for Stanford University's acclaimed CodeInPlace programme in which I helped teach introductory Python programming to a global community of students.

1. I offer a dialogue based, bilateral form of teaching and am fairly approachable; there are no dumb questions and I will personally make sure that you understand the concepts being covered in that session, even if we overshoot the time by a bit.
2. I mainly teach middle school and high school students, though I can accommodate other demographics as needed and if possible.
3. I also can offer text based doubt clearing in my free time outside of class timings, most likely for free, for students I have tutored for at least one session but that will be at my leisure and convenience.
4. I can also edit your write-ups in English and provide lessons on facets of spoken/written English, secondarily.
