About Anastasia
My name is Anastasia, and I have a B.S. in Chemistry with minors in Mathematics and Psychology. I graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA and will be starting a Ph.D. program in chemistry at the University of Utah.
I have over five years of tutoring experience in chemistry, biology, math, and scientific writing. I have worked with students one-on-one and in group tutoring settings, helping both high school and college students strengthen their understanding, improve their study habits, and reach their goals in challenging courses.
My strongest tutoring experience is in Chemistry I, Chemistry II, biology, precalculus, and calculus. I have also helped students with scientific writing, including organizing lab reports, strengthening explanations, and communicating scientific ideas more clearly.
One of the things I am most proud of as a tutor is helping students make real, measurable progress. I have helped a student improve from a 54% on their first exam to a 93% on the final. In my chemistry tutoring work, professors also shared with me that average exam scores for Chemistry I and II students increased from around a 55% to a 76% over the four semesters I tutored their courses.
I know science and math classes can feel overwhelming, especially when students feel like they are already behind. My goal is to make the material feel more manageable, help students understand where they are struggling, and give them a clear plan to move forward with more confidence.

My lessons are designed to help students understand the material, not just memorize steps for one assignment or exam. I start by figuring out where the student is struggling, whether that is a missing foundation, confusion with problem-solving, difficulty applying concepts, or not knowing how to study effectively for the class.
From there, we break the subject down into manageable pieces. A typical lesson may include reviewing past material, working through practice problems step by step, identifying common mistakes, and building a clear strategy for upcoming exams, quizzes, or assignments. I also help students develop stronger study habits, including how to take useful notes, prepare for exams, review mistakes, and create a realistic study plan.
What sets me apart as a tutor is that I focus on both the content and the student’s overall approach to learning. Many students know they are struggling, but they do not always know why. My goal is to help them find the gaps, build confidence, and create a foundation for long-term success.
I tutor high school and college students in chemistry, biology, and math, including general chemistry, introductory biology, algebra, precalculus, and related science courses.
