About Nicolas
I was trained at the classical organ at the Conservatory of Brest, then at the Conservatory of the XVIIth arrondissement in Paris, in parallel with literary studies which led me to teach French for twelve years. I traveled a little: one year in Turkey, two years in French Guiana, six years in Brazil. It was in Brazil, two years ago, that I decided to break definitively with academic teaching to devote myself to activities more in line with my creativity needs: the writing of a novel, and music. Because I was in the country where music and dance are an art of living in pleasure, but also because I met musicians who knew how to remind me how fundamental it was to me. Back in France since the end of 2016, I am based in Saint-Gilles Pligeaux, in central Brittany, and I collaborate with local musicians (Blues, Rock, Reggae). I have been teaching piano since April and I find again the pleasure of teaching that I had lost since my resignation from the National Education. I offer piano lessons in the spirit of everything my Brazilian experience has taught me: that talent does not exist, but only work, that the absence of talent exists even less, that the pleasure of Playing is more important than work, that music is within reach of all, and that without it (but that is more Nietzsche than Brazil who taught it to me) life does not make sense ... My method is to start with the pleasure of playing what you want, and not by too much theory, nor virtuosity exercises, nor those "tunes for beginners" that nobody really wants to play or to hear. But if you want a more classical training, I can also offer it.
