About Joseph
Practicing software engineer with 5 years experience and Honours Degree in Aerospace Engineering. I have worked in software and algorithm roles for three different autonomous vehicle and robotics companies. One mature small company, one startup, and one corporate. I have experience in C++ software engineering for real time control systems. Part time PhD candidate in control systems. I can help with C++, CMake, Bash problems or other algorithmic problems such as Kalman Filtering, Control Systems Design, and Model Predictive Control. I can also teach flight simulation techniques.
I have tutored various engineering courses at the University of Queensland such as first year engineering courses, flight mechanics and avionics.

I like to explain the underlying principles first, followed by providing examples that demonstrate the principle. I like to ensure my students understand the general ideas, followed by any caveats. I do not encourage the kind of engineering or programming that is based on copy-pasting code off stack overflow. My philosophy is that every code you write or paste is code you own. Therefore anything you submit for review, you must be prepared to defend.
We can discuss bespoke lesson plans. For instance, if your goal is to write a vehicle simulator in C++, I can offer 5-10 lessons with a plan to go with each lesson. If your goal is to have someone to discuss modern C++ techniques for a personal project or on an ad hoc basis, I can help with that too.
