About Opal
I am an experienced violin tutor with 18 years of teaching experience, helping students from school level to working professionals develop their musical skills. I am passionate about teaching and enjoy guiding students throughout their learning journey. My teaching philosophy is based on understanding, clarity, and continuous improvement.
I believe that strong fundamentals are the key to success. I focus on teaching posture, bow control, finger placement, and note reading in detail. As students progress, I guide them towards advanced techniques and musical expression. I have successfully taught over 150 students, many of whom have improved their confidence and playing ability.
I create a comfortable and encouraging learning environment. My goal is to help students enjoy learning and stay motivated.

My teaching methodology is focused on making violin learning simple, practical, and easy to understand for every student. I use real-life examples and case studies to explain concepts like rhythm, pitch, tone, and expression so students can clearly connect theory with practice.
I focus on building strong fundamentals such as posture, bow control, finger placement, and scales, ensuring that students fully understand each concept before moving forward. I follow a structured, step-by-step approach that helps build confidence and consistency. Communication is very important in my classes, and I encourage students to ask questions and share their doubts openly.
I provide clear explanations and regular feedback to guide their improvement. I follow values like honesty, discipline, and commitment. Apart from violin, I also teach music theory, ear training, rhythm exercises, and performance techniques to support overall musical development.
