About Resego
I am a newly qualified teacher with a Bachelor of Education in Intermediate Phase from IIE Rosebank College, specialising in English First/First Additional Language, Setswana First Additional Language, Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Technology, and Social Sciences. I am passionate about creating a supportive, engaging learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions and grow at their own pace.
Over the past few years, I have gained hands-on teaching experience across Grades 4 to 7, working in both classroom and online settings. I have taught Natural Science and Technology, Social Sciences, Mathematics, English, and Setswana across several schools, which has given me a solid understanding of how learners at this level think and where they typically need extra support.
Beyond academics, I care about my students' wellbeing. I once led a school project raising awareness around mental health, and I try to bring that same care and attentiveness into every lesson I teach. My approach to private tutoring
I take a patient, structured approach to tutoring that focuses on building strong foundations rather than quick fixes. My methodology centres on breaking concepts down into small, manageable steps, using real-life examples and hands-on activities to make abstract ideas concrete — especially important for subjects like Mathematics and Natural Science and Technology at this age group. I believe every learner grasps things differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit visual, auditory, or hands-on learners, and I regularly check for understanding rather than just moving through content.
What makes me unique as a tutor is the range of subjects I can support — Social Sciences, Mathematics, English, and Natural Science and Technology — which means I can help learners see the connections between subjects and build well-rounded study skills, not just memorise facts for one test.
I am proficient in English and able to teach comfortably in this language.
What to expect from a typical lesson
A typical lesson starts with a quick recap of previous work to reinforce memory, followed by introducing new concepts through examples and guided practice. I encourage learners to ask questions and work through problems themselves with my support, and I always end with a short summary or a small task to consolidate what was learned. I also communicate regularly on progress and areas that may need extra attention.

My lessons are aimed at learners in Grade 4 to Grade 6, and I tailor the pace and content to each child's current level, whether they need extra support to catch up or want to be stretched further ahead of the curriculum.
