About Ana
Ana has recently graduated with an Artist Diploma in Collaborative Piano from the Royal College of Music in London. She won the Accompanist Prize in the 2020 AESS Patricia Routledge National English Song Competition and in the 2019 Maureen Lehane Vocal Awards held at the Wigmore Hall. In 2019 she won the Accompanist Prize in the AESS Courtney Kenny Award and was selected as a Leeds Lieder Young Artist. She also won the Alasdair Graham Pianist Prize in the 2020 RCM Lieder Competition, the First Prize for Pianists in the RCM Brooks-van der Pump English Song Competition and the Second Prize for Pianists in the RCM Joan Chissell Schumann Competition. Ana was a Scholar of the 2019 International Summer Academy for Chamber Music Niedersachsen in Germany and a Fellow of the 2018 Toronto Chamber Music Institute in Canada. Ana has performed live on BBC Radio 3 - In Tune. Recent festival appearances include the Oxford Lieder Festival, North Norfolk Music Festival, Brighton Festival, Lewes Festival of Song, Leeds Lieder Festival, London Song Festival, Toronto Summer Music Festival, Orford Music Festival and the British Isles Music Festival.

Having graduated with an Artist Diploma (the highest level of taught postgraduate study) from the Royal College of Music, and having more than 7 years of one-to-one teaching experience in London, I am able to tailor the lessons to suit every individual's needs, personality and goals. Lessons will focus on building a strong and healthy technique, developing a musical, rhythmic and artistic awareness, improving or developing your sight-reading skills, getting used to performing, making the fastest progress you can make at your own pace, and most importantly enjoying the learning process. I have experience teaching both children and adults, ranging from beginner level to advanced performers, and lessons are for anyone aged 6 and over. I prepare students for ABRSM Exams, auditions, festivals and competitions. In order to continuously improve my teaching skills and expand my horizons, I have taken optional Teaching Modules during my studies, which included school placements and visits, as well as observing individual lessons - all of these having greatly contributed to forming my own teaching methodology. I also offer Music Theory lessons from Beginner to Advanced. DBS check.
