About Rashid
Hello, my name is actually Röya, I am an international student from Azerbaijan, who graduated from Maastricht University in Netherlands. I have studied in three different places in different cultures, learning different areas of maths and computer science as my main focus, whilst learning about languages and social sciences in my personal time as my interests. I am cheerful and friendly, considerate (maybe a bit too much), and like connecting with people that I interact with. Especially in these environments I like to follow the flow of the person and help them feel comfortable with themselves. Coming from a underpriveleged background I have learned how to be resistant, empathetic and considerate.
I am also queer, which maybe is scary for some people, but do not worry, all it means is that I am very intersectional, I understand different ways of being and thinking, and I am proud of myself for that. It also means I will be funny hehe.

I have witnessed from personal experience and of my students, as well as friends that the way that education is set up has very low margin of freedom, leaving a lot of students feel lost and frustrated. I like to give space to the students, let them see what they want to focus on. then we take it with their pace, let them get comfortable with topics, whether it is calculus or Turkish. Whether to learn or to pass the course, learning with a friendly, cheerful person who will give you space and support is important. And if you only want to pass the course, we focus on specifics and power you through to make it happen without much profoundness ;).
