About Daniel

Hi my name is Daniel, I started offering interview coaching because I started seeing how quickly my students were improving and getting life-changing job offers that meant they were able to provide for themselves and their families. I still get a buzz and so much joy from seeing how quickly anyone can improve and of course getting those calls when a student lands a job. I'm currently Head of Recruitment for a Global Organization, I've been lucky enough to have sat on hundreds of interviews, interview-feedback sessions and candidate offer discussions. From this experience I've found that there are techniques and frameworks that anyone can learn and use to become expert interviewers. My goal is to teach you these frameworks and the skill of interviewing that you'll be able to use for any job you ever go for in your life.

It’s always amazed me that there is no formal education pathway for learning how to interview. You can spend a mortgage deposit on a degree but not be taught how to convert that to a job.

I’ve designed my lessons to be a complete short course on everything you will ever need to interview at a professional level. Each lesson is structured with powerpoint slides that will cover a specific core topic and competency for interviewing.

From sitting on hundreds of interviews and debrief sessions I’ve learned that there are frameworks and principles which need to be followed in all formal interviews, without these principles being followed the chances of success drop dramatically. Each lesson is anchored by one of these frameworks. We will then take your own personal experience and tailor that into a format which will be authentic, professional and allow you to put your best foot forward.

The course format will follow 5 x 1-hour sessions. The simple frameworks and principles you will learn in this course will set you up for success any interview you have for life. These are applicable to any job and any level. If you have an upcoming interview which requires a condensed timeframe and content please let me know and I will do my best to work within the timeframe.

Finally, my students have a strong track record of getting job offers across all industries, I've helped:
-Graduates get their first job offers
-International candidates get Australian job offers
-Australians get international job offers in the UK and Asia
-Everyday people looking for a new role
-Everyday people looking for that extra support / push to get them back into employment
-Senior Executives with panel interviews and coaching

I look forward to giving you the tools you need to interview mastery.

  • When did you start your personal development? What motivated this choice?

I've played sports all my life where it's very common to have a coach and work on your craft everyday. Personal development becomes a habit once you see the results and significant improvements to your life or the area that you are working on over time. It's become a habit for me over time (personal development).
  • Describe your own understanding of "personal development" and what can it bring in the short and long-term?

In the short term personal development can be difficult, it's an investment of time and effort with potentially minimal returns. However over time or the longer term, the work you put in never lies. A concept I like to subscribe to is 1% better each day. Over the long term this 1% can completely change the trajectory of your life, everyone can do the 1% everyday, but you have to start now and be consistent.
  • What are some practical tips to help improve self-confidence?

Practical tips to improving self confidence would be: Authenticity - being comfortable in your own skin, Vulnerability - being comfortable being vulnerable and understanding that it gives others a chance to share about their own vulnerability too and meet you halfway there - this builds connection, Work - there's no substitute for hours spent practicing your craft to be confident in whatever you are doing, trust the work that you put in.
  • Do you think a teacher can learn from their students? Is there a lesson where you have experienced this?

I learn from my students all the time, I think the beauty of tutoring is that it's always a two-way street of learning. 'Teaching provides an opportunity to consolidate learning, it's very rewarding when you 'teach' a student how to fish and they show you a different way on how to do it! I think that's the magic of teaching in the right way and a sign that your students are progressing.
  • What personalities do you admire; who represents personal and professional success in your opinion?

I admire anyone who has the courage to step out of their comfort zone and work on their craft. People that not only talk about what they want to do, but consistently 'show-up' everyday and prove through their actions that they are doing it. For me personal and professional success is all about balance and those that find the ability to balance being the best they can be professionally and also being present and available to their family and loved ones at home.
  • What are your hobbies and what benefits do they have on your motivation?

I love anything to do with physical exercise or sports, it helps immensely with motivation as it's such a direct correlation with the work you put in translating to physical appearance and feeling 'healthy.' Physical training re-enforces the effort to reward pathways and creates healthy habits for motivation and discipline with work.
  • Who are your classes for, specifically? Is this domain open to all?

My classes are open to anyone who is looking to learn the art of interviewing and is looking to feel confident and proud to represent themselves in the best way and secure a job offer or career that they deserve.
  • Being a Superprof requires some adaptability. Tell us about your methods in adapting to different individuals.

I try to always provide a base level of structure, but then adapt and be flexible to the students' needs and what they need to work on. Some students need more structure and hands on feedback, others need more general guidance and coaching to find their own solutions. A technique I often use as an example, is to ask people to talk to me as if I'm a friend, as opposed to someone they are doing a 'mock interview' with.
