About Leonardo
Teaching has always been pleasurable activity in my life. And it is even more pleasurable when teaching Italian language and the amazing culture and history of Italy.
The art, cuisine, fashion, landscapes, history, archaeology and curiosities of the country, all mixed in private individual and customized lessons to make learning as pleasurable as it can be and a true adventure and voyage across the "bel paese".
With an life of international experience I studied law in the US, design and art history in different countries, and I have been studying classics in Rome for some years and now I am a post graduate candidate. For several years I have been teaching Italian for foreigners students in Italy and English for Italian students, as well as art history and ancient history. Learning and teaching are passions I like to share.

The lessons are customized according to the student's passions, interests or needs. An approach that allows the student to experience each lesson in a more enjoyable and easier way and makes the learning of a language easier.
For instance, if you like Ancient Rome we will use texts, videos and images to travel across it while learning Italian, including the practical conversation and the grammar structure. The same may be done with music, cinema, cooking, wine and many other subjects of interest. At your choice.
The methodology combines linguistic (grammar, vocabulary, phonetic) with culture and history, and each lesson includes writing, listening and conversation sessions. You will not only learn about the language but also about the country, its culture, lifestyle and history.
Still a practical communicative method which allows the student to speak since the very first lesson.

Took a short course on Roman history and archaeology. He was clear and concise, and used maps, photographs, plans and lots of materials that aids to illustrate the lessons.
He was clearly very very knowledgeable on the topic of all things about Roman history. He has experience in multiple excavations around Rome and Italy, and this pulls even more to help describing the digs around the forum and why the ancient Romans did certain things in the ways they did. It was a fantastic. Highly recommended!
