About Emma
As I am still a student, I know how scary it is to ask for help. I like to be encouraging and patient, so students will be able to approach me and ask questions. Questions are always welcome to me, as without them, a child cannot progress.
I have been a volunteer tutor at Kumon for two years, as well as a private tutor. These experiences have helped me see the best methods of approaching and helping kids.
More than anything, my lessons are very specialized. My plans and teaching style greatly depend on the child’s personality and level.

Hello there! I’m so glad you are considering me to help tutor your child!
My lessons are specialized to each child, depending on what they need the most. The first two lessons are usually me seeing what they excel at and which areas they need to improve in. From then on, I can plan a curriculum and discuss with the parent about lesson plans.
A typical writing or English lesson includes:
1. Questions, whether that be about a previous lesson or even their own schoolwork
2. Concept review from last lesson
3. Introduction of new concept
4. Practice
5. Games specialized for that concept and questions
