About Carlos
In my lessons, I emphasize both mastery of the math itself and the strategies that lead to success in exams. Students learn not just what to study, but how to solve challenging problems in the context of their assignments or exams. I have helped students in the United States and in the Americas to go into exam rooms feeling prepared, confident, and ready to get the grades they need. An important aspect of my teaching is the material. I use both official and my very own material. With every student I prepare personalized material as well according to the areas that require improvement. I aim to make sure that students internalize both the concepts and the skills to solve exercises and ace their exams. I also want to make sure that students have ample opportunities to practice and learn. If your student wants to improve their grades in the SAT Math section, AP Calculus, or IB Math courses, please send me a message. I’ll create a plan for them. I can also work with small groups of up to four students.

Hi, I’m an Ivy League graduate and a qualified math teacher for over six years, helping high school students excel in SAT Math, AP Calculus (AB/BC), and IB Math courses. My teaching philosophy is that every student is capable of mastering topics in mathematics. I also use active learning to have an achievable and successful plan to understand the material and hone mathematical skills. In my experience, the proper guidance makes the difference between a good and an excellent grade in mathematics courses and exams.
Getting outstanding grades in the SAT Math and advanced courses isn’t just about knowing the material, it’s about understanding concepts deeply, building problem-solving skills, and approaching each question with confidence. I have been creating my own custom materials and lesson plans designed to cover the needs of each of my students.
