About Julia

Hello! I'm Julia!

I have over ten years of experience working in higher education at both The University of Pennsylvania and Victoria University of Wellington. I received my PhD in Classical Studies from the University of Pennsylvania in August of 2023. I have worked in many areas of a university, including as an instructor, teaching assistant, academic advisor and editor at Student Learning Support, and academic support worker with Disability Services. I also have experience working as a private tutor and education consultant with high school students.

I have extensive experience editing and advising academic essays. As a college instructor and teaching assistant I graded student essays and provided feedback for improvement. As an academic advisor and editor at Student Learning Support I worked one-on-one with students from all disciplines and degree levels, consulting and providing guidance regarding e.g., brainstorming, outlining, drafting, and revising their essays. In this role I served as personal proofreader and editor, providing feedback on language, grammar, syntax, and structure. I've also personally written and edited a PhD thesis, MA thesis, BAHons thesis, and countless academic essays!

I am passionate about education and helping students reach their writing goals.

My qualifications:

MA. Classical Studies. Victoria University of Wellington

Certificate in College and University Teaching, University of Pennsylvania

Overall GPA of 3.92/4.0 for PhD, University of Pennsylvania

Jullia taught me Latin at Victoria University of Wellington. I was never very good at languages, but Julia's patience helped me get a great grade so I could continue with my postgraduate studies. Julia is excellent and I highly recommend learning Latin from her.

Julia edited my PhD history thesis and did an excellent job. She tidied up my grammar and made the whole text much more succinct, and with a better flow. I felt confident in her ability and was happy with the advise she gave me. She has a great eye for detail and is clearly an experienced academic writer. I am very confident in recommending her services.
