About Aya
After graduating from university, I worked at a bank in Japan for five years.
In 2021, I moved to Canada to explore a different way of life.
I also worked as a cake decorator for three years — baking has always been a hobby of mine!

【Beginners】
If you're just starting out, don’t worry — I’ll guide you step by step with patience and positivity.
We’ll begin with essential grammar and simple phrases you can use in daily life. We’ll also practice natural pronunciation and casual conversation, like:
・How to introduce yourself
・Talking about your day
・Ordering food at a café
・Chatting about your hobbies
In my lessons we will be using my own material and the 《いろどり》textbook (Available online, no purchase needed). And also, I use visuals, repetition, and real-life examples to make things easy to remember.
【 Intermediate and advanced】
For learners who already have some basics, I offer flexible, conversation-based lessons.
You can choose what we focus on — I’ll support you in building fluency and expressing yourself confidently!
We can use:
・NHK News Web Easy or MATCHA for conversation practice
・Journaling & daily-life topics for writing & speaking
・Or simply casual talk on things like food, travel, lifestyle, culture, social issues, nature, relationships… whatever you’re into
I customize each lesson to match your goals and energy
