About Jenni
I’ve had a love for the Japanese language from the young age of fourteen. I was taught by my Japanese tutor. A native Japanese speaker, Hiro-sensei had taught Japanese at Duke University in North Carolina and decided to include me as one of her private students. With 15 years of experience and having traveled to Japan, I strive to teach the language with the same enthusiasm and dedication that my tutor taught me.

I believe that teaching methods should be personalized for every student.
In the first lesson, I will briefly discuss the following lesson plans and how the student feels he or she would benefit the most from their personal learning types. (Visual learning, auditory learning, reading, writing.)
A typical lesson plan would include:
Learning Japanese Vocabulary
Reading (first furigana, then hiragana, katakana, and eventually kanji)
Writing the Japanese characters
Forming Japanese sentences
Dialogue (simulating Japanese conversations)
Fun methods for memorization (catching ball, tossing a ballon, songs, anime, etc.)
What sets me apart from other tutors is that I believe though Japanese is a difficult language one should not take a strict, formal approach to learning that follows a set guideline. If it is fun and meaningful to the student then grasping the Japanese language will be all the more easier and lasting.
Lessons are for anyone interested in learning beginner Japanese/elementary Japanese (tailored to middle school, high school, and college level).
