About Athina
Hi, I am a Fifth Year student studying Medicine at James Cook University. I graduated high-school with an Edexcel (GCE A-level) curriculum in 2018 and have made my self familiar with the Australian education system. Additionally, I have completed the ISAT examination (equivalent to MCAT) and the IELTS examination (English proficiency test) with a result of 8/9. My past experiences in teaching mathematics to middle school students who have been able to increase their marks have taught me to be a good motivator and supporter for both A-grade students and students who are struggling with the subject.

My teaching style in Mathematics is versatile in a way that is individualized to each student as I understand that different students comprehend information in different ways. I have multiple resources which can be used as notes so that students will be able to guide themselves through their curriculum.
Dynamic pedagogue and motivated; I would like to take care of students experiencing academic difficulties by accompanying them through tutoring workshops. I am highly passionate about the subject, therefore, will be able to motivate the students to reach their highest potential.
My lesson structure is mainly composed of teaching the mechanics behind the material, doing past paper questions on the lesson taught and reviewing them prior to the next lesson. I also assist in pre-examination preparations.
I am detail-oriented, approachable, present excellent communication skills, comprehensive subject knowledge and am eager to contribute in a momentous way towards success.
I am mainly available for online sessions through Zoom/Skype however my locations are currently only limited to the Library of JCU for face-to-face tutoring. I am pretty flexible for any after-hours preparations. I also provide revision classes for those who need "catching up" on material.

Perfect! Very detailed in the support she is providing for my daughter. She maps out a plan of what to teach and explains how to do each math area thoroughly. She also provides help with assignments by proof reading and information to research. Athina gives a detailed overview of what she has covered in each lesson which makes it easier for me to understand what she is up to in her math work. Athina is extremely smart and you will not be disappointed with her tutoring.

My rate for students Grade 6-8 is 30$/h.
The rate for high school students varies from 35-50$ depending on the module and requirements.
I am also able to assist University students who require basic mathematics help
Students are required to send me a list of their textbooks at least 3 days prior to the lesson
Cancellation fee applied
