Initially, I'll try to gauge a student's background knowledge in the subject we will be covering to meet them at their level. From there, I like to go over concepts and skills in a subject and then provide a variety of practice problems that enable students to apply their knowledge.
When applicable, I'll provide videos, notes, and other resources so that students have a variety of resources to draw upon. I am a strong supporter of providing positive and constructive feedback so students feel empowered, not shamed, when learning. No questions are dumb questions!

Nicole has been an incredible mentor as Vice President of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers Johns Hopkins chapter. She is extremely patient and willing to help in any way possible
I have had the pleasure of working closely with Nicole in both academic and professional settings. We initially met as Resident Advisors in our university’s dorms, but our relationship quickly evolved from just coworkers to friends and collaborators as I got to know her. As we are both chemical engineering majors, our shared major and research interests have given me a front-row seat to her exceptional work ethic and extensive knowledge in our shared classes. She brings both academic rigor and personal warmth to every interaction, creating a comfortable and encouraging environment for anyone she’s collaborating with or teaching. Truly, Nicole's interpersonal skills are exceptional—she is kind, attentive, and genuinely invested in helping others succeed. Her calming presence and encouraging demeanor make her not just an effective tutor, but a mentor you can trust.
She is well-versed in chemistry, physics, engineering, and mathematics, and her approach to any problem is always thoughtful and methodical, ensuring that every concept is understood before moving on. Her stellar approach prepares students to learn more complex topics as they build on earlier material. She’s also the type of person who not only helps you find the right answer, but also teaches you how to think critically and independently so that you can move forward understanding the material and solve similar problems on future homework or exams. I find her understanding of transport phenomena (momentum, mass, and heat transfer) to be especially exquisite, in both theory and practice. Her research experience and technical skills speak volumes, but what truly sets her apart is her ability to communicate complex concepts in clear, relatable terms. Nicole breaks down problems with clarity and precision, always guiding students toward deeper understanding.
Whether you're studying for the SATs, tackling a brutal class, or preparing for exams, Nicole will help you achieve and surpass your personal goals. With her mentorship, she will not only help you master the material but also inspire you to love the learning process itself. I could not recommend her more—she will keep you ahead of the game!Nicole is a wonderful and upbeat tutor who works to break down concepts for difficult topics, along with tying these topics together. Additionally, she walks through examples to ensure that you'll understand the exact concepts you'll need. Nicole puts in a lot of work to make sure that her content is understandable and digestible.
