About Brandon
Story is how we make sense of the world and I've devoted my career to helping others tell their stories better. As a working journalist, author, and editor, I've written for major media outlets and managed a small, independent publication. A successful piece of writing, in my experience, is driven by two things: 1) the author's voice, and 2) a passion for the topic or task. This applies to all forms of writing, though sometimes the passion is hard to find when it's something you have to do (an assignment, a college essay, etc.). It's my job to help you find it. In addition to making sure your writing is clean, concise, and accurate, the only way it will approach being the best it can be is if your voice and passion are conveyed to the reader.

Any piece of writing is essentially a story, from term papers to college essays to blog posts. As an editor, I've helped many young writers with a three tier approach to improve any piece of writing:
1. Is the story here complete and structured in a way that maximizes a reader's interest?
2. Is the writing grammatically correct and accurate?
3. Is the writing as direct, concise and powerful as it can be?
Those three things are essential to any piece of writing. Once we've established those, a writer's voice is the most important thing to uphold.
