About Emily
Okay so you’re probably like who is this goofball that’s going to teach me math. Well even though I like to have a good time I realize credentials are important to get a better understanding of my experience and expertise in the field. As I said, math is something that has immediately clicked with me since the very first time I solved 2+2 = 4. I immediately fell in love with it and excelled in every course through the years, finishing every one with a GPA of a 95 or higher including AP Calculus in high school and received a 5 on the AP Exam. I knew I wanted to go into the math field from early on and found out about actuarial science which is one of hardest fields you can go into in the math department, though math had been easy for me up through this point so I was up for the challenge! I started taking computer programming courses my freshmen year of high school through senior year to begin preparing for the actuarial road knowing programming was necessary in that field, all of which I excelled in as well. I completed my course work in college early enough to take on 4 minors my senior year of college, all in the math field with the exception of psychology, I took on that one for fun, I needed a little break from math at this point. I was on the Dean’s List every single semester and I graduated with a 3.9 GPA, don’t even get me started that it was .1 from a 4.0. Nonetheless it’s good enough to prove I’m a baller at math, so let me help you out!

I know you’ve probably got 100 math tutors to choose from but none of them are as fun as me! Let’s face it, math nerds are usually pretty boring and serious and that makes its even harder to try to learn something that’s already boring and serious. I love math, I always have, since I was a wee kindergartener so I don’t see it that way, I see it more like endless satisfying puzzles to solve but I understand many people do see it that way and I would love to try to shift your perspective by helping you learn concepts that you just can’t quite seem to grasp yet and add a little fun to our lessons so they don’t seem so daunting. I’ve been tutoring for 4 years and about 9 out of 10 my students raised their average by at least a letter and realized math wasn’t as scary as they once believed. No matter what level you’re at I’m looking forward to working with you and advancing your skills so you can become a math nerd like me.
