About Kai
I am a biology student at UC Berkeley, and am on track to become a pharmacist. I have worked as a tutor, lead tutor, and tutor center director through Mathnasium, as well as doing volunteer-based tutoring through Learn To Be. In total, I have 5 years of professional tutoring experience. I am on the younger side, at 19, but I have found that this tends to make me more approachable to other young people. In particular, I have a lot of experience and success in working with middle school aged students.

I tend to base my lessons around a student's preexisting classes, focusing on homework help and building foundations previously lacking. I am flexible to what each person wants or needs, but usually I would spend the first session figuring out where they are at with math and school in general. From there, I would use the first half of a session working on any gaps in knowledge I have identified, and the second on homework or studying for a preexisting class. I do my best to incorporate breaks as needed, and have experience with various different lesson formats, as I have worked with many disabled, struggling, and special needs students.
