I am majoring in physics and applied mathematics and have always had an interest in math and like subjects. I have worked with children ranging from ages 8-college in different subjects. My teaching method starts and ends the same way.
1.) ask; I like to always ask students what they do/do not understand so that I can gauge where the student needs help
2.) teach; if the student does not know exactly where they need help, I just go right in and start teaching from where the student left off so that I can then see where the help is needed. I like to break everything down as basically as I can so they we have a strong base to build off of.
3.) tutor(class); I like to give many examples and come prepared with worksheets that we can work on at the beginning of our tutoring sessions. These seem to come in handy with students that are not understanding the material their in-class teachers/professors are working with , and to give the student a fresh lens on the topics at hand.
4.) Repeat.
