About Lena
Hi, I’m Lena! I’m a Biomedical Science graduate from King’s College London and an experienced Maths tutor. I achieved an A* in A-Level Maths and 13 grade 9s at GCSE, so I understand both the academic demands of exams and the importance of having the right support along the way.
I’m friendly, approachable and easy-going, and I try to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I particularly enjoy helping students turn topics they find difficult or intimidating into something that feels clear and manageable.
Having tutored students both online and in person for over two years, I’ve worked with different abilities and learning styles. For me, tutoring is not only about improving grades, but also about helping students become more confident and independent in Maths.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs, whether they are looking to build confidence, strengthen their understanding of difficult topics, or prepare for GCSE and A-Level exams. I focus on explaining mathematical concepts clearly and breaking challenging problems into manageable steps.
Lessons combine clear explanations, worked examples and plenty of guided practice, with a particular focus on exam-style questions and effective problem-solving techniques. I adapt my teaching style and pace to each student and regularly identify areas that need further attention.
My aim is not simply to help students reach the correct answer, but to make sure they understand the reasoning behind it and become confident solving similar problems independently.
