About Rowena
My name is Rowena, and I am a Communication, Speech and Drama tutor based in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire. I teach across schools and out-of-school provision. I adore teaching drama - it has so much to offer in terms of communication, collaboration and creativity! I teach children from age 4-18 across multiple disciplines, from Shakespeare to devising! As a child, I was incredibly shy, and my mum knew that what I really needed was a drama teacher. She was right! I believe drama is for everyone, whether your dream is to be a professional actor or whether that's actually your worst nightmare! The confidence, critical thinking and creativity that drama introduces are important skills that you can use much more widely. If you're looking to improve your public speaking skills, hoping to add another qualification to your CV, or looking to try something new, public speaking might be just right for you!

Lessons range from 15 to 60 minutes depending on the age, grade and personal preference of the student. Students will be encouraged to study topics that interest them, while being challenged to achieve their best. I am an English and Drama tutor with a BA in English, PCertLAM in Performance, LSDE in Communication, Speech and Drama Education and an MA in Drama and Creative Writing in Education.
