About Charlotte
Hello, I’m Charlotte, a Law graduate with a Master’s in Translation & Interpreting and over 5 years’ experience tutoring Maths and English at KS2 & KS3. I have worked both with established tutoring companies and one-to-one with private students, teaching a range of subjects including Maths, English, and Music Theory. I have also tutored and mentored students preparing for 11+ exams, having passed the exams myself and received offers from three London grammar schools.
I have always been passionate about helping others, whether through volunteering or mentoring, which has made tutoring a natural path for me to follow. I prioritise creating a supportive and encouraging environment that makes both students and families feel comfortable and secure. Beyond tutoring, I have extensive experience in legal contract review and project management, which has strengthened my organisational skills and attention to detail - qualities I apply in every session.

My tutoring goes beyond teaching the syllabus. I encourage students to be curious and apply critical thinking, enabling them to approach challenges with growing confidence and resilience.
We focus on the small steps together, steadily building your child’s abilities and confidence. Each lesson is tailored to their needs, starting with subject areas of which they have some understanding, before identifying larger gaps in knowledge, and strengthening that knowledge through practical exercises and discussion. I provide feedback for parents/carers after each session and share resources for independent study.
Homework often includes past papers (if preparing for SATs) or custom practice tasks, which we review together in the next lesson to consolidate learning. My approach is patient and flexible, ensuring lessons are engaging and focused on measurable goals and genuine understanding.
