About Qasim
Hi, I'm Qasim! I'm passionate about teaching and helping students achieve their goals. My academic background combines law and neuroscience, with degrees from UCL and Columbia Law School. Alongside formal education, I've developed my communication skills through professional roles in academic publishing, scientific journals, and legal editing. I've also enjoyed hands-on experience as a university teaching assistant and providing informal support for GCSE and A-Level students. My tutoring approach is highly personalised, blending structured methods with adaptable techniques to meet individual student goals. Lessons usually last around 60 minutes, with flexibility for extended sessions if needed for projects or deeper revision. I use various teaching methods, including guided practice, interactive discussions, targeted feedback, and real-world examples, tailored to each student's learning style. I hold an MSci in Neuroscience and an LLB from University College London (UCL), as well as a JD from Columbia Law School. Additionally, I have professional experience in academic publishing—both scientific and legal—and as an editor for university-level student publications. I've also served as a university teaching assistant and provided informal tutoring support for GCSE and A-Level students. My tutoring covers: • GCSE Students: Combined Science, Biology, Maths, English, and Essay Writing. Lessons focus on curriculum requirements, homework help, exam techniques, while developing broader knowledge to spark a deeper interest. • A-Level Students: Law, Politics, Biology, Critical Thinking, and Essay Writing (inc. Extended Project Qualification). I focus on aligning with exam boards, enhancing analytical abilities, subject comprehension, and expanding context beyond the syllabus. • University Students: Law (including coursework and exam preparation), Neuroscience, Academic Writing, Dissertation Support, Research Projects, and Advanced Critical Thinking. I aim to build each student's confidence, clarity, and critical thinking abilities in a supportive, engaging environment, ensuring they achieve both immediate academic goals and lasting intellectual growth.
