About Krisha
I am currently a law student at the University of Nottingham with a passion for teaching. Watching a student's skills develop brings me great joy and satisfaction, and I am confident that through hard work and perseverance, it is possible to overcome any obstacle to one's education. It is also a strong belief of mine that when enjoying a subject, it becomes easier to excel within said subject, which is why I strive to make my lessons fun and engaging.

My lessons usually begin with an assessment of the child's ability level, which is helpful in identifying areas of strength and where improvement is needed. I take a child-centered approach to teaching, varying my methods depending on the child's needs.
Lessons for younger students who struggle with reading, writing and spelling, I use multi-sensory techniques, as engaging different senses whilst learning is a method proven to enhance memory and enjoyment of the subject being taught. I also focus on encouraging the child to attempt activities on their own and working through mistakes with them afterwards, rather than delivering lecture-style lessons.
For older children who are studying English Literature, I take a Socratic approach to teaching, asking questions designed to develop students' analysis and critical thinking skills.
Lessons are usually one hour, but I am open to adjusting this length to what suits the child.

She helped tutor my 8 year old nephew with his reading and writing skills. She was extremely patient with him and was always giving positive feedback. I saw him improve his reading skills in real time as well as his confidence boost.
My son was really struggling with his GCSE's, especially English. He was only predicted to get a 5, however after only a couple months of lessons with Krisha, by the time his second set of mocks came round he was achieving 7's.
