About Radhika
Having started mentoring/peer teaching whilst I was still at school I realised that I had a love for teaching. As an A Level student I channelled this into a part-time tutoring job with a national tutoring agency, I realised that as a student myself I was able to explain concepts to other students in ways that they found easy to understand. Sharing revision notes, tips and tricks with other students and seeing them succeed was honestly one of the best things to see! Therefore, I continued tutoring as a university student studying Law at a Russell Group University. Even today, I believe that one of my greatest strengths as a tutor is that of being a student myself. I believe this allows tutees to resonate with my teaching style and also allows them to share their worries about their progress/academics. All in all, greater communication between the tutor and tutee enables greater progress.

As someone who has worked with many students with different learning styles over the years, I use the initial assessment session to not only gauge the academic level of my tutee but also to understand their learning style. This is largely done through a student-led discussion of what they want to achieve through tuition. As a recent GCSE and A level student myself who has achieved the top grades, I am able to share helpful revision resources (notes and plans) with students that will help them achieve the top grades. For A Level and GCSE English students, I encourage a focus around essay writing skills and planning answers (of course this is dependent on individual student strengths and weaknesses). For Maths I encourage a practice-based approach with each session ending in exam-based practice questions to demonstrate understanding. For younger students (KS2 and KS3) I aim to ensure they build a love of the subject whilst strengthening their basics (be it grammar, comprehension, negative numbers or algebra). As a former tutor at an award-winning national tutoring agency I have five years of tutoring experience, merged with my own experience as a student. I have achieved A grades in my English and Maths A Levels with a level 9 in English Language at GCSE and a level 7 for English Literature and Maths. I am currently a Law student at a Russell Group University.
