About Sarah
I am a junior in high school taking dual credit classes at ACC. I have tutored my younger siblings (one in eighth grade, two in third grade) in math for about four years. Being the oldest of six kids, I have a lot of patience. I tutor Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry. I have studied these subjects thoroughly and I enjoy explaining their topics in depth to others. I am currently studying AP Calculus AB and AP statistics. I scored in the 91st percentile in math on the PSAT and I am on track to earn a higher score on the SAT. My ideal tutoring location is the Leander Public Library, as I live within walking distance and my schedule is most flexible here. I am partners with my twin sister, and we also offer a duo tutoring service for siblings, in order to save parents valuable time.

My view of learning lines up with that of Khan Academy: The more you struggle, the more you learn, and you can learn anything. I work with students through the math curriculum on Khan Academy, which uses a personalized sequence of practice sets and instructional videos. For students who prefer hard paper, I work with Saxon workbooks and text books, which use assorted practice problems to build skills. Of course, I am fully open to working with any curriculum of the student's preference. My primary focus is to help the student fully understand the structure of math concepts and work with them to practice and master them.

"I give lessons at my home" refers to my home base, the Leander Public Library. I do not receive students in my private home.
$4 travel compensation applies only to those outside of my listed travel radius of 15 miles. Cost remains at $15 an hour for those living within the radius or willing to come to the Leander Public Library.
