About Daniel
My name is Daniel Pivonka, and I’m a chess coach from Chicago. I fell in love with chess at the age of thirteen, giving me nearly two decades of experience. I have a competitive nature, coming from a college-level tennis background. Throughout my chess journey, I’ve cultivated my knowledge of chess, reaching a 2000 rating on Chess.com, which puts me in the 99.7th percentile, and I’m eager to improve more. I am also the co-creator of Chessable course “Visualization Trainer”, which currently sits at an average 4.44 out of 5 star rating. One thing I love more than that is teaching, seeing my students improve and develop their own love for the game.
Whether you’re just beginning to learn how the pieces move, or are ready to refine your strategies, I offer personalized lessons that make chess accessible, rewarding, and fun for all individuals.
