About Simon
I have been speaking Chinese Mandarin for over 20 years and have been involved in teaching it for nearly as long. Many former students have have progressed to become extremely comfortable in initiating conversations with Chinese people!! Chinese people are amazed when they hear some of my former students speak to them in their lown anguage.
Chinese Mandarin is a language that has fascinated me for many years. This fascination and subsequent fondness has produced in me the desire and the enthusiasm to teach it.

Chinese Mandarin is a tonal language, so different intonations can have a huge effect on the meaning of what you say. Therefore, I put great emphasis on pronunciation in the structure of my lessons. Knowing the difficulties with it, my lessons include ways of making pronunciation more and more accurate. My lessons are extremely interactive and I encourage students to begin using what they have learned right away, there in the lesson!! With role play, interviews, stories and even drawings, students very quickly start to use and understand Chinese Mandarin in various settings.
