About Huang

Hi! I’m a Chinese postgraduate student currently studying at the Royal College of Art (RCA) in London.

I’m a native Mandarin Chinese speaker and fluent in English, so I can easily communicate with students in both languages and explain Chinese words, pronunciation, and grammar in a clear and simple way.

I love meeting people from different cultures and sharing my own language and culture with others. Having studied and lived in the UK, I understand how challenging learning a new language can sometimes be, especially when it comes to speaking confidently in everyday situations.

I’m friendly, patient, and easy to talk to. I believe that making mistakes is a natural part of learning, so I always aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable practising Chinese.

I would love to help you discover not only the Chinese language but also the culture, traditions, and everyday life behind it.

About the lesson

My Chinese lessons are designed to help you learn Mandarin step by step, even if you have no previous experience!

We will start with the basics, including Pinyin (Chinese pronunciation), common words, simple greetings, numbers, and everyday expressions. My first goal is to help you feel confident speaking basic Chinese, recognising common Chinese characters, and gradually learning how to write them.

As you improve, we will move on to simple sentences and real-life conversations, such as introducing yourself, ordering food, shopping, travelling, and talking about your daily life.

My lessons focus on four key skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. I believe learning a language should be fun, practical, and enjoyable, rather than just memorising vocabulary and grammar rules.

Since I speak both Mandarin and English, I can explain things clearly in English whenever needed, making the learning process easier for beginners.
