About Dustin
Hello! My name is Dustin, and I am a Digital Technologies student at Manukau Institute of Technology, specializing in Web and Software Development. I have a passion for technology since high school and like creating projects that require creativity and problem-solving skills; whether it's websites, applications, interactive projects, or small programming projects. During the last three years of my life, I have managed to gain experience in various programming languages and technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, C, C++, React, and databases. All the time I try to learn as much as possible both as part of my studies and independently. I believe that one should study by doing and discover how things work.

My approach to tutoring is relaxed, practical, and focused on making difficult topics easier to understand. Rather than simply giving students answers to memorize, I like to work through problems with them step by step and explain the reasoning behind each solution. I use examples, demonstrations, guided practice, and questions to help students understand the topic and gradually become confident solving problems independently. I also encourage students to ask questions and make mistakes, as I believe understanding where something went wrong is an important part of learning.
Most lessons are around one hour long, giving enough time to introduce or review a topic, practice it together, and finish by making sure the student understands what they have learned. Lessons can also be extended to two hours when more time is needed or when the student wants to continue working through a topic.
I have around three years of experience working with IT and programming and have studied and worked with technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, C, C++, and other web and software development tools. My experience as a student also gives me a good understanding of the challenges students can face when learning technical subjects for the first time.
My lessons are mainly aimed at school and beginner-level students who want extra support with mathematics, programming, or technology-related subjects. I can also work with students who are completely new to programming and are interested in learning the basics, as well as students who already have some experience and want help improving their understanding or completing coursework.
