About Dawn
I started in the entertainment business when I was in my teens. I have quite a few family members that were all extremely successful in the business.
I had one of the first video store chains I opened in the 80's. This helped me understand what consumers look for in a movie. I became Chairman of the video association that represented national and international video stores and movie studios in the 90's. Part of my responsibility was working with talent, agents and distribution. After selling my stores I made my first small movie and I got hooked on all the pieces that have to come together to bring a movie to the screen. I was on the board of SXSW, I was business woman of the year in Austin, Texas, my video stores were awarded top video stores for multiple years. I have 2 scripts right now that I am working on producing which both have won the coveted "blacklist" award. I have worked with some of the most sought after talent and I have partnered and continue to partner with some of the most respected producers in the business.

What makes this class unique and sets my teaching methods apart is that I have a strong business background. We are in show BUSINESS and too many producers are only "creative" producers and do not understand the business aspects that are imperative to attract talent and investors.
This class is for all levels of students that want to understand how to put a movie package together from the ground up.
