About Lee
Hi, I’m Lee Chazen! I’ve always been curious, drawn to the edges, and fascinated by the spaces in between. Before I’m a teacher, I’m a student—constantly learning, questioning, and exploring. I thrive in liminal spaces, living somewhere between art and science, and I believe this border-blurring approach is more essential than ever as technology reshapes our world. Over the years, I’ve worn many hats: musician, campaign manager, teacher, debater, technologist, entrepreneur, and AI prompt writer. None of these titles tell the full story, but they all reflect my passion for creativity, connection, and learning. One pivotal moment in my career came when I introduced an all game-based learning environment to my high school world history students. The idea caught on, and over time, I noticed something remarkable—patterns of creativity, curiosity, and confidence emerging naturally from the chaos of the game. This became the foundation for my graduate thesis, Thriving on the Edge of Chaos: A Complex Adaptive Theory of Education, where I argued for empowering students through games and projects rather than rigid, top-down instruction. Beyond the classroom, I find inspiration in physical challenges and teamwork. Whether brainstorming new ideas while hiking (a practice I call “HikeStorming”), organizing trade missions to the former Soviet Union, or playing French horn in symphony orchestras and brass quintets, I’ve always been driven by the belief that disparate parts can come together to create something extraordinary. My path has been anything but linear. From college debate tournaments and political campaigns to teaching U.S. government, world history, and speech and debate, I’ve embraced roles that challenge me to think critically, adapt, and stay curious. Along the way, I’ve founded unique projects like Global Challenge, a game-based classroom initiative, and HikeStorming, a brainstorming method that combines creativity with movement. Now, I’m diving into the world of generative AI, exploring how tools like AI prompts can spark creativity, enhance learning, and help us shape a better future. I’d love to bring this same curiosity, energy, and innovative spirit to help you achieve your goals. Let’s learn, create, and explore together!

AI is out and you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube, so to speak -- so why not make the best of this? Also, if we're going to have this around, let's create the best possible ways to use this and do things with AI that make a positive impact. For you, that might mean helping you in school, if you're a student. And, if you're a teacher, I can show you ways to organize your information that you've never dreamed of. Same things apply whether you are an entrepreneur, a legal researcher or small business person. It's all about how you interact with an LLM (Large Language Model) and there I'm talking about the questions you ask and the kinds of prompts you construct.
I take a human-centered approach to AI. After all, humans are pretty unique and have abilities it will take a long time to replace. In fact, many of the things that make us human will never be replaced. I'm talking about your smile, your sense of humor, the unique way you think about things, your memories and the full body sensation you get from experiencing life! Basically, you can take the best of what makes you and turn those ideas into helpful chatbots that do things the way you want them done.
A typical lesson plan might introduce you to the tricks of prompt engineering or a new AI tool like ChatGPT 4o or NotebookLM Plus. A lot of this is about figuring out what you want to do. Do you want to get organized? Do you need a tool to help you write your papers faster? Do you want to record all your ideas on a transcription app and maybe have that turned into a book? There are so many ways to go. For example, earlier today, I needed to look through a bunch of resumes (I'm searching for a sales assistant to help me grow my business). I took all the responses I got and loaded them into a NotebookLM notebook. Since I have already created two chatbots to help people find work and figure out if they match with a job, I loaded those into the notebook too. In under a minute, the AI ranked each person in terms of who would be the best fit!
My Teaching Methods and Techniques
I like to make things practical, creative and fun. We'll use this time to finally solve all those complex tasks you've ever wanted to fix.
Also, I'm not too much into this idea that the teacher has all the answers and all you have to do is listen and take notes. That's not what this is about. This is about finding out how your brain works, what your interests are and uncovering how you can work with AI to get some super cool, highly creative results! I'm the guide who will introduce you to different systems and solutions.
