About Cindy
Hi, my name is Cindy, and I recently graduated from college in Vancouver. I am a Digital Designer/Marketer and Web Designer. I was born and raised in Mexico by Chinese parents, which makes me not only an English and fluent Latin Spanish speaker but also Chinese (village Cantonese dialect and basic Mandarin). Additionally, I am learning French as a hobby. What motivated me to teach (Latin) Spanish? As someone who grew up with a family that doesn't speak the language, I had to learn Spanish to communicate with strangers, clients, classmates, and friends, and Chinese to communicate with my parents. While growing up, I had to get used to helping my parents translate between both languages, which later on turned out to be 3 with English. I started learning English in elementary school, but I got hooked on the language in High School.

My teaching style is tourist-centred, because I want travellers to feel comfortable speaking Spanish, such as having casual conversations, how to order a meal, and greetings. I adapt lessons to the learner’s level, goals, and preferred way of learning. For Spanish, I employ a communicative approach that incorporates real-life conversations, interactive exercises, and cultural references to make learning a natural and enjoyable experience.
