About Katherine
I am a PhD student in Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of Alberta, with academic training in Chinese language, literature, translation, and performance studies. My research focuses on the relationship between Chinese aesthetics, calligraphy, and contemporary performance practices.

My teaching approach combines language learning with Chinese literature, culture, translation, and artistic practices.
- pronunciation practice, conversational exercises, vocabulary development, reading short texts, and discussions of cultural context.
- As a PhD student in Theatre and Performance Studies, a chief editor of a graduate academic journal, and a long-term calligraphy practitioner, I bring together academic training, artistic experience, and language teaching. I aim to make lessons engaging, creative, and intellectually enriching.
