About Mitchell
I LOVE learning new things, but I tend to be distractible. I have a short attention span when it comes to things that are not fun. Growing up, I always wanted to learn Spanish so that I could unlock the ability to get to personally know/build friendships with the millions of Spanish-speaking residents of California, where I live. For many years, I tried over and over to learn Spanish, with no success. The traditional way that Spanish is taught is simply incredibly BORING. And boring information does not stick in my brain. Additionally, learning Spanish seemed to require an overwhelmingly impossible amount of time, and dedicating every spare minute in my free time to rigorous study and memorization. I got demoralized, but I kept trying. I even took Spanish classes all four years of high school. By the age of 18, when I left for college, my Spanish abilities were pathetic. I felt like all of my hard work and the sacrifice of my free time had been for nothing. BUT, over the course of my college years and then my first years in the working world, I developed a creative, efficient, effective, and FUN method for learning Spanish. Using these methods, I rapidly gained proficiency in Spanish, and eventually reached fluency. Since then, I have been able to use Spanish frequently in a work/professional context, and excitingly, some of my closest friendships are with individuals who only speak Spanish. I love helping other people to break out of the frustrating and ineffective methods of learning Spanish, and helping to enable them to become true Spanish-speakers, ready and equipped to engage the millions of Spanish-speaking people around them.

I am a normal human being who easily gets bored, confused, stressed out, demoralized, burnt out, and frustrated. I am not a genius. I always have a very packed schedule, with little spare time to learn new things. AND YET, with all of these weaknesses, I was able to become fluent in Spanish in my early twenties WITHOUT losing all of my precious free time! And if you are a normal person like me, you can learn Spanish too! I have spent years fine-tuning creative approaches for effectively learning a new language in a way that is FUN, not overwhelming or stressful, not confusing, and fits easily into anyone’s busy schedule. I worked with Mitch when he served as my translator, and helped me navigate the cultural and language barriers of managing a supplier in Mexico. He helped educate me and manage correspondence remotely, but more importantly, traveled with me to the supplier, and handled so much more than what I had expected of him. All of my prices are negotiable. Especially if a student returns consistently, I am more than willing to discuss the reduction of my rates in order to help them in their Spanish-learning journey. I do not want financial worries to prevent someone from getting to learn a new language!
